RPL TRAINING: Theory

Classroom training covers a wide range of subjects, followed by multiple choice examinations.

Duration of theory component: 8 days (incl. exams)

Theory training is conducted at our state of the art Pride Centre located in Embakasi.

Once all theory training has been covered, students will be required to complete and pass multiple-choice exams based on the modules. The pass mark is 75% 

 

RPL TRAINING: Practical Flight training

Consists of one-to-one training sessions using a multi-rotor or fixed wing drone with a minimum flight hours of 5 hours. Lessons are scheduled to assess students’ skill level and improve flying ability.

Duration of practical element depends on students’ skill, experience, progress, availability and weather conditions

The practical training component culminates in a practical exam or skills test with a Designated Flight Examiner (DFE). On successful completion of the skills test the examiner will recommend for issuance of the RPL to the successful candidate

Duration of practical component: 2 weeks

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be 18 years or older.
  • Applicants can read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Applicants must possess a valid Class 3 Medical Certificate*
  • Applicants must possess a Police Certificate of Good Conduct (valid for 12 months from the date of issue).

 

In addition to, an applicant will need to apply to KCAA for a Student Remote Pilot License** before commencement of the course.

* A class 3 medical certificate can only be issued by a KCAA designated Aviation Medical Examiner. Contacts and location of the aviation medical examiners are available on the KCAA website via the link https://www.kcaa.or.ke/personnel-licencing/aviation-medicine
The medical exam costs Kshs. 10,000 and usually takes less than a day to be completed.

** This will be facilitated by Fahari Aviation UTO at no additional cost to the student.

 

Pricing:

The RPL program costs Kshs. 200,000 excluding the cost of the aviation medical exam.
10% discount is available to all students during the introductory period.

*** This fee is not included in the RPL program cost. This is an indicative cost and is payable directly to the aviation medical examiner.

How to Book:

STEP 1: Confirm you’ve met all the requirements.

STEP 2: Apply and get a Class 3 Medical Certificate.

STEP 3: Fill in the UTO course enrolment form and email it back to us with the attachments specified. training@fahariaviation.com

STEP 4: Once availability is confirmed, an invoice will be sent to you indicating the total course cost, which should be paid before commencement of the course.
